KARAWANG, AlexaPodcast.ID – Isu dugaan pencemaran lingkungan kembali mencuat di Kabupaten Karawang, Jawa Barat. Kali ini, perhatian publik tertuju pada lahan terbuka di wilayah Telukjambe Timur yang diduga menjadi lokasi pembuangan limbah industri.
Lokasi yang berada di sekitar Jalan Raya Peruri 12, Desa Sukaluyu tersebut menjadi sorotan warga setelah ditemukan tumpukan material mencurigakan yang diduga merupakan sisa hasil produksi pabrik.
Kondisi ini memicu kekhawatiran serius terkait potensi kerusakan lingkungan, khususnya terhadap kualitas tanah dan sumber air di sekitarnya.
Dari hasil penelusuran di lapangan, material yang ditimbun tidak hanya merusak pemandangan, tetapi juga menimbulkan pertanyaan besar terkait kandungan dan dampaknya.
Sejumlah karung pembungkus material yang ditemukan bahkan masih memperlihatkan identitas perusahaan.
Nama “China Glaze Indonesia” tercetak jelas pada beberapa karung di lokasi. Perusahaan tersebut diketahui beroperasi di kawasan industri Surya Cipta yang letaknya tidak jauh dari titik temuan.
Kekhawatiran semakin meningkat lantaran lokasi pembuangan berada dekat jalur irigasi Kali Malang, yang memiliki peran penting sebagai sumber pengairan bagi pertanian dan kebutuhan warga.
Jika material tersebut tergolong limbah berbahaya, potensi pencemaran air menjadi ancaman nyata.
Salah satu warga setempat mengungkapkan bahwa aktivitas penimbunan diduga dilakukan secara sengaja untuk menyamarkan keberadaan limbah.
“Kalau dilihat dari luar memang seperti tanah biasa, tapi di bawahnya banyak karung yang ditimbun. Kami khawatir ini limbah pabrik yang bisa merusak lingkungan,” ujarnya.
Warga menyebut material tersebut telah berada di lokasi cukup lama, namun baru belakangan ini menjadi perhatian setelah ditemukan kejanggalan pada struktur tanah.
Dugaan ini semakin serius mengingat limbah industri, terutama kategori Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3), berpotensi mencemari tanah dan air tanah jika tidak dikelola dengan benar.
Dampaknya dapat berlangsung jangka panjang, mulai dari penurunan kualitas lahan hingga gangguan kesehatan masyarakat.
Atas temuan ini, warga mendesak Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Kabupaten Karawang untuk segera melakukan investigasi menyeluruh.
Mereka meminta adanya pemeriksaan langsung ke lokasi, uji laboratorium terhadap sampel material, serta penelusuran pihak yang bertanggung jawab.
Hingga kini, belum ada keterangan resmi dari pihak perusahaan maupun pengelola kawasan industri terkait. Redaksi masih terus berupaya melakukan konfirmasi guna menghadirkan informasi yang berimbang.
Kasus ini menjadi pengingat pentingnya pengelolaan limbah industri yang transparan dan sesuai regulasi.
Sebagai kawasan industri besar, Karawang dituntut memiliki pengawasan ketat agar aktivitas produksi tidak berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan.
Jika terbukti, kasus ini berpotensi menjadi preseden penting dalam penegakan hukum lingkungan. Warga pun berharap tidak hanya ada investigasi, tetapi juga tindakan tegas serta upaya pemulihan lingkungan.
