KARAWANG, AlexaPodcast.ID – Kepolisian Resor Karawang menangani peristiwa meninggalnya seorang warga lanjut usia yang diduga terpeleset dan tenggelam di area terdampak banjir di Desa Karangligar, Kecamatan Telukjambe Barat, Kabupaten Karawang, pada Kamis (29/1/2026) pagi.
Peristiwa tersebut terjadi sekitar pukul 07.00 WIB di Dusun Kampek, Desa Karangligar. Korban diketahui berinisial E (±80), seorang perempuan warga setempat.
Kapolres Karawang AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah melalui Kasi Humas IPDA Cep Wildan menjelaskan, korban sebelumnya sempat mengungsi ke rumah keluarganya di wilayah Margamulya, Telukjambe Barat, akibat banjir yang melanda kawasan tersebut.
“Setelah kondisi air mulai surut, korban meminta untuk diantar kembali ke rumahnya. Namun beberapa waktu kemudian, korban ditemukan sudah dalam keadaan meninggal dunia,” ujar IPDA Cep Wildan, Kamis (29/1/2026).
Berdasarkan keterangan saksi, korban ditemukan dalam kondisi terjatuh dari bale-bale di dalam rumahnya. Diduga korban tidak mampu bangun kembali karena faktor usia, ditambah adanya genangan air sisa banjir di lokasi kejadian.
“Diduga korban terpeleset dan tidak dapat menyelamatkan diri, sehingga menyebabkan korban meninggal dunia di tempat,” tambahnya.
Saksi pertama yang menemukan korban adalah Wardi (±50), warga Dusun Kampek, yang kemudian melaporkan kejadian tersebut kepada pihak kepolisian.
Menindaklanjuti laporan itu, personel Polres Karawang bersama Polsek Telukjambe Barat segera mendatangi lokasi untuk melakukan pengecekan tempat kejadian perkara (TKP), mengamankan area, mendata saksi, serta mencatat identitas korban.
“Selama bulan Januari 2026, tercatat sudah tiga orang meninggal dunia akibat tenggelam saat bencana banjir di wilayah Kabupaten Karawang,” ungkap Cep Wildan.
Pihak kepolisian mengimbau masyarakat, khususnya warga lanjut usia dan keluarga yang tinggal di daerah terdampak banjir, agar meningkatkan kewaspadaan terhadap kondisi lingkungan pascabanjir yang masih berpotensi membahayakan keselamatan.
