KARAWANG, AlexaPodcaat.ID – Tim SAR gabungan akhirnya berhasil menemukan dan mengevakuasi jasad korban tenggelam di sekitar Jembatan BTT (Bendung Tarum Timur), Kampung Sumur Bandung, Desa Tamelang, Kecamatan Cikampek, Kabupaten Karawang, Minggu (17/05/2026) siang.

‎Korban yang hingga kini belum diketahui identitasnya diduga merupakan Orang Dengan Gangguan Jiwa (ODGJ). Jasad korban ditemukan sekitar pukul 11.40 WIB dalam kondisi meninggal dunia setelah dilakukan pencarian intensif oleh tim gabungan.

‎Kapolres Karawang AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah melalui Kasi Humas Polres Karawang, Cep Wildan menjelaskan, peristiwa bermula saat korban diduga bermain ayunan di pinggir Jembatan BTT Kampung Tamelang. Namun nahas, korban terjatuh ke aliran sungai hingga akhirnya tenggelam.

‎“Setelah dilakukan pencarian oleh tim gabungan, korban berhasil ditemukan dalam kondisi meninggal dunia di wilayah Dawuan Timur. Lokasi penemuan berjarak sekitar 5 kilometer dari titik awal korban terjatuh,” ujar Cep Wildan.

‎Proses pencarian dan evakuasi melibatkan berbagai unsur, di antaranya Polairud Polres Karawang, Sat Samapta, Tim Inafis Polres Karawang, Basarnas Karawang, BPBD Kabupaten Karawang, SAR gabungan, relawan, TNI Koramil Cikampek, serta personel Polsek Purwasari dan Polsek Cikampek.

‎Usai dievakuasi dari aliran sungai, jasad korban langsung dibawa menggunakan ambulans menuju RSUD Kabupaten Karawang guna proses identifikasi lebih lanjut.
‎
‎“Tim Inafis masih melakukan proses identifikasi untuk mengetahui identitas korban secara pasti,” tambahnya.
‎
‎Hingga proses evakuasi selesai dilaksanakan, situasi di lokasi kejadian maupun sekitar Jembatan BTT dilaporkan aman, tertib, dan kondusif.
