KARAWANG — Kecelakaan lalu lintas tunggal terjadi di Jalan Raya Badami, Kampung Cibogo, RT 10/RW 06, Desa Margamulya, Kecamatan Telukjambe Barat, Kabupaten Karawang, Rabu (19/8/2026) sekitar pukul 11.30 WIB.
Insiden tersebut melibatkan sebuah kendaraan trailer bernomor polisi B 9033 WEH yang menabrak pohon di pinggir jalan. Akibat kecelakaan, sopir trailer mengalami luka-luka dan harus dilarikan ke RSUD Karawang untuk mendapatkan penanganan medis.
Kapolresta Karawang Kombes Pol. Mario Prahatinto melalui Kasi Humas Polresta Karawang Ipda Cep Wildan mengatakan, kecelakaan bermula saat trailer melaju dari arah Badami menuju Pangkalan dalam kondisi tanpa muatan.
“Kendaraan melaju dengan kecepatan sekitar 60–70 kilometer per jam. Saat melintas di lokasi kejadian, kendaraan tiba-tiba oleng ke sebelah kiri hingga menabrak pohon di pinggir jalan,” ujar Cep Wildan.
Usai kejadian, warga sekitar langsung memberikan pertolongan dan mengevakuasi pengemudi ke RSUD Karawang. Sementara itu, petugas kepolisian melakukan pengecekan serta pengamanan di lokasi kecelakaan.
Petugas juga berkoordinasi dengan Unit Laka Lantas dan Unit Rescue Derek Dinas Perhubungan Kabupaten Karawang untuk proses penanganan kendaraan.
Pengemudi trailer diketahui bernama Marjo (25), warga Kabupaten Pandeglang. Dalam kecelakaan tersebut, Marjo mengalami luka-luka, sedangkan kendaraan trailer mengalami kerusakan. Adapun nilai kerugian materiel masih dalam proses penghitungan.
Dari keterangan awal pengemudi, kecelakaan diduga dipicu kerusakan pada salah satu komponen kendaraan, yakni tie rod. Namun, kepolisian masih melakukan pemeriksaan lebih lanjut untuk memastikan penyebab kecelakaan tersebut.
Polresta Karawang mengingatkan para pengguna jalan, terutama pengemudi kendaraan berat, agar tidak mengabaikan kondisi kendaraan sebelum berangkat.
Pemeriksaan komponen penting seperti sistem kemudi, rem, ban, hingga bagian lainnya dinilai penting untuk memastikan kendaraan benar-benar laik jalan.
Selain itu, pengemudi juga diminta menyesuaikan kecepatan dengan kondisi jalan dan situasi lalu lintas guna meminimalisasi risiko kecelakaan.
