KARAWANG, AlexaPodcast.ID – Polres Karawang berhasil mengungkap kasus kematian tragis seorang bayi baru lahir dalam waktu kurang dari 24 jam setelah penemuan jasadnya di Kampung Kalengkuku, Kecamatan Tirtamulya, Kabupaten Karawang.
Kapolres Karawang, AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah, dalam konferensi pers pada Selasa (28/10/2025), mengungkapkan bahwa pihaknya telah menetapkan dua orang tersangka yang merupakan orang tua kandung dari bayi malang tersebut.
“Kasus ini berawal dari penemuan mayat bayi yang sudah menjadi buah bibir masyarakat di Kampung Kalengkuku. Setelah laporan diterima, tim gabungan dari Reskrim, Samapta, dan Polsek segera bergerak ke lokasi,” ujar Kapolres.
Melalui penyelidikan intensif, polisi berhasil mengidentifikasi dan menangkap dua pelaku dalam waktu kurang dari satu hari.
Kedua pelaku adalah MRB (20), laki-laki warga Labanmulia, Kecamatan Tegalmulia, dan RDL (21), perempuan warga Dusun Pasir Tanjung, Kecamatan Lemahabang.
Menurut hasil pemeriksaan, peristiwa memilukan itu terjadi pada Sabtu, 25 Oktober 2025, sekitar pukul 14.00 WIB. RDL melahirkan bayi tersebut di rumahnya. Namun, alih-alih merawat, keduanya justru melakukan tindakan keji.
“Dengan sengaja, pelaku menutup mulut bayi menggunakan lakban hingga korban tak bisa bernapas dan meninggal dunia. Jasad bayi kemudian dibungkus dengan kain, dimasukkan ke dalam tas berlapis, lalu dibuang ke daerah Kalengkuku yang berjarak sekitar 5 kilometer dari rumah pelaku,” jelas AKBP Fiki.
Barang bukti yang diamankan antara lain satu tas ransel warna hitam, kain jarik biru dan coklat, lakban, tas dinding hitam, serta kantong kresek merah. Semua barang tersebut digunakan untuk membungkus jasad korban.
Lebih lanjut, Kapolres menjelaskan bahwa motif utama kedua pelaku adalah rasa panik dan malu karena hubungan di luar pernikahan yang menyebabkan kehamilan. Mereka takut mendapat tekanan sosial dari keluarga dan lingkungan sekitar.
Kedua pelaku kini ditahan dan dijerat Pasal 80 Ayat (3) Undang-Undang Nomor 35 Tahun 2014 tentang Perlindungan Anak, dengan ancaman hukuman maksimal 15 tahun penjara.
“Kasus ini menjadi pengingat bagi kita semua tentang pentingnya pendidikan moral dan kesehatan reproduksi bagi generasi muda agar peristiwa seperti ini tidak terulang,” pungkas Kapolres.
