KARAWANG – Warga Karawang diminta tidak menganggap remeh dampak erupsi Gunung Anak Krakatau. Potensi sebaran abu vulkanik yang terbawa angin menjadi perhatian kepolisian.
Kapolresta Karawang Kombes Pol. Mario Prahatinto meminta masyarakat tetap tenang, tetapi meningkatkan kewaspadaan. Aktivitas di luar rumah yang tidak mendesak sebaiknya dikurangi.
“Tetap tenang dan jangan panik. Kurangi aktivitas outdoor yang tidak diperlukan dan gunakan masker bagi yang memang harus beraktivitas di luar rumah,” ujar Mario.
Ia juga mengingatkan warga agar tidak melakukan panic buying masker. Masker cukup dibeli sesuai kebutuhan agar stok tetap tersedia bagi masyarakat yang membutuhkan.
Selain itu, warga diminta menutup rapat pintu dan jendela rumah. Jika abu vulkanik mulai menempel di halaman atau jendela, bersihkan menggunakan kain yang dibasahi air.
Kendaraan yang terkena abu juga sebaiknya dicuci menggunakan air dan sabun, bukan sekadar dilap. Jika mata terkena abu, segera bilas dengan air bersih.
Polresta Karawang turut bergerak membantu warga dengan membagikan masker, terutama kepada masyarakat yang masih harus beraktivitas di luar ruangan.
“Kami telah memerintahkan jajaran untuk membantu masyarakat dengan membagikan masker,” tegasnya.
Polisi juga meminta masyarakat hanya mempercayai informasi dari sumber resmi. Jangan panik, jangan termakan hoaks, dan jangan abaikan keselamatan.
Kondisi lingkungan tetap perlu dipantau sambil mengikuti perkembangan informasi mengenai aktivitas Gunung Anak Krakatau.
