PURWAKARTA, AlexaPodcast.ID – Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Kabupaten Purwakarta menggelar kegiatan santunan bagi anak yatim di Desa Cimahi, Kecamatan Campaka, Senin (16/02/2026).
Kegiatan ini merupakan rangkaian peringatan Hari Pers Nasional (HPN) 2026.
Sebelumnya, santunan serupa telah dilaksanakan di Desa Cirende, Kecamatan Campaka, dan Yayasan Pagelaran di Kelurahan Nagri Kaler, Kecamatan Purwakarta.
Ketua Panitia HPN PWI Purwakarta, Sakip Mahmud, mengatakan kegiatan tersebut menjadi agenda rutin organisasi sebagai bentuk kepedulian sosial.
“Hari ini kami menyasar puluhan anak yatim di Desa Cimahi. Ini bukan sekadar kegiatan seremonial, tetapi wujud tanggung jawab sosial insan pers di luar tugas peliputan,” ujarnya.
Menurutnya, bantuan yang diberikan diharapkan dapat membantu kebutuhan sehari-hari serta meringankan beban warga menjelang bulan suci Ramadan.
Ia juga berharap santunan tersebut menjadi penyemangat bagi anak-anak untuk terus belajar dan meraih cita-cita.
“Kami ingin PWI hadir tidak hanya melalui pemberitaan, tetapi juga melalui aksi nyata yang dirasakan langsung oleh masyarakat,” tambahnya.
Kepala Desa Cimahi, Asep Saepul Bahrie, menyampaikan apresiasi atas kepedulian para wartawan. Ia menilai sinergi antara media dan masyarakat sangat penting dalam menjaga suasana yang kondusif di wilayah.
Kegiatan berlangsung khidmat dan ditutup dengan doa bersama serta ramah tamah bersama tokoh masyarakat setempat.
