KARAWANG – Seorang pria ditemukan meninggal dunia di dalam kamar mandi Masjid Rumah Sakit Islam (RSI) Karawang, Jalan Pangkal Perjuangan, Kelurahan Tanjungpura, Kecamatan Karawang Barat, Selasa (4/8/2026) malam.
Mendapat laporan tersebut, jajaran Polsek Karawang Kota bersama personel Pamapta, Tim Inafis, dan Satreskrim Polresta Karawang langsung mendatangi lokasi untuk melakukan olah tempat kejadian perkara (TKP) serta meminta keterangan dari sejumlah saksi guna memastikan penyebab kejadian.
Kapolresta Karawang Kombes Pol. Mario Prahatinto melalui Kasi Humas IPDA Cep Wildan mengatakan, korban diketahui berinisial A.R. (22), warga Kota Bekasi.
Peristiwa bermula saat seorang pengurus masjid merasa curiga karena aliran air di salah satu kamar mandi terus menyala sejak sore hari. Ketika hendak mematikan keran, pintu kamar mandi diketahui terkunci dari dalam.
“Setelah beberapa kali dipanggil namun tidak ada respons, pintu kemudian dibuka secara paksa. Korban ditemukan sudah dalam kondisi meninggal dunia,” ujar IPDA Cep Wildan.
Petugas yang tiba di lokasi kemudian mengamankan area, melakukan identifikasi, memeriksa sejumlah saksi, serta mengevakuasi jenazah ke RSUD Karawang untuk menjalani pemeriksaan medis sesuai prosedur.
Berdasarkan penanganan awal, polisi menyatakan situasi di sekitar lokasi tetap aman dan kondusif. Sementara itu, pihak keluarga korban menyampaikan penolakan untuk dilakukan autopsi dan telah membuat surat pernyataan penolakan sesuai ketentuan yang berlaku.
Polresta Karawang mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak berspekulasi ataupun menyebarkan informasi yang belum terverifikasi terkait peristiwa tersebut.
Kepolisian menegaskan setiap laporan yang diterima akan ditangani secara profesional, objektif, dan sesuai prosedur hukum.
Selain itu, masyarakat juga diingatkan untuk lebih peduli terhadap keluarga, kerabat, maupun teman yang menunjukkan tanda-tanda mengalami tekanan psikologis atau perubahan perilaku yang mengkhawatirkan.
