KARAWANG, AlexaPodcast.ID – Sebuah video yang memperlihatkan dua orang terduga pelaku pencurian kendaraan bermotor (curanmor) dihakimi massa di wilayah Kecamatan Pedes, Kabupaten Karawang, viral di media sosial.
Peristiwa tersebut terjadi pada Senin (9/3/2026) sekitar pukul 09.00 WIB di Dusun Sukarela RT 01/02, Desa Kertamulya, Kecamatan Pedes.
Kapolres Karawang AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah melalui Kasi Humas IPDA Cep Wildan menjelaskan, pihak kepolisian langsung bergerak ke lokasi setelah menerima laporan dari masyarakat.
“Petugas langsung mendatangi lokasi setelah menerima informasi dari masyarakat untuk mengamankan situasi dan mengevakuasi kedua terduga pelaku ke RSUD Karawang,” ujar IPDA Cep Wildan.
Petugas dari Unit Reskrim dan SPK Polsek Pedes segera mendatangi tempat kejadian perkara untuk mengamankan situasi sekaligus mengevakuasi dua orang yang diduga sebagai pelaku curanmor yang sebelumnya telah diamankan warga.
Kedua terduga pelaku kemudian dibawa ke RSUD Karawang untuk mendapatkan penanganan medis.
Namun berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan medis, satu orang terduga pelaku berinisial A dinyatakan meninggal dunia. Sementara satu orang lainnya berinisial K alias E masih menjalani perawatan.
Dari lokasi kejadian, polisi mengamankan sejumlah barang bukti di antaranya satu unit sepeda motor Honda Beat warna hitam yang diduga digunakan sebagai sarana, satu unit sepeda motor milik korban, gagang kunci letter T, serta satu unit handphone.
“Kami masih melakukan penyelidikan dengan mengumpulkan keterangan saksi serta melakukan olah TKP bersama tim Inafis,” ucapnya.
Petugas juga telah melakukan olah TKP, meminta keterangan sejumlah saksi, serta berkoordinasi dengan tim Inafis Polres Karawang untuk proses penyelidikan lebih lanjut.
Polisi mengingatkan bahwa tindakan main hakim sendiri bukanlah solusi dalam penegakan hukum, meskipun sering kali muncul karena emosi warga yang memuncak saat menghadapi dugaan pelaku kejahatan.
“Kami mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak melakukan tindakan main hakim sendiri. Biarkan proses hukum berjalan, karena hukum tidak mengenal istilah ‘sidang dadakan di jalanan’,” pungkasnya.
