KARAWANG, AlexaPodcast.ID – Camat Kutawaluya, Kabupaten Karawang, Arta, bersama staf kecamatan dan para kepala desa melaksanakan kegiatan gotong royong membersihkan saluran irigasi dari tumpukan eceng gondok dan sampah.
Kegiatan ini dilakukan di dua titik utama yang menjadi jalur pengairan bagi ribuan hektare sawah di wilayah Kecamatan Kutawaluya. Kamis (20/11/2025).
Pembersihan ini dilakukan karena volume eceng gondok terus meningkat dan dikhawatirkan menghambat aliran air, terutama menjelang musim hujan yang rawan menyebabkan banjir.
Dua titik tersebut diketahui merupakan saluran vital yang mengairi sekitar 2.500 hektare lahan pertanian di beberapa desa.
Camat Kutawaluya, Arta, menjelaskan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari upaya menjaga kelancaran irigasi dan memastikan sektor pertanian tetap produktif.
“Pelaksanaan gotong royong ini kami fokuskan pada dua titik saluran irigasi yang mengairi sekitar 2.500 hektare sawah. Kondisi eceng gondok sudah cukup menumpuk sehingga perlu segera dibersihkan,” jelas Arta.
Antusiasme para kepala desa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini juga mendapatkan apresiasi dari pihak kecamatan.
Dari total 12 desa yang hadir, seluruhnya berpartisipasi aktif dalam pembersihan, mulai dari pengangkatan eceng gondok hingga penataan ulang jalur aliran air.
“Dari 12 desa yang hadir, seluruh kepala desa sangat antusias. Mereka sama-sama menyadari pentingnya menjaga saluran irigasi agar tetap lancar, apalagi menjelang musim hujan,” ungkap Arta.
Selain menjaga aliran air tetap lancar, kegiatan ini juga menjadi bagian dari upaya mempertahankan ketahanan pangan di sektor pertanian yang menjadi penopang utama perekonomian masyarakat Kutawaluya.
Arta juga berharap adanya dukungan dari Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kebersihan (DLHK) Kabupaten Karawang dalam proses pengangkutan tumpukan eceng gondok dan sampah yang telah dibersihkan.
”Kami berharap DLHK dapat membantu mengangkut eceng gondok dan sampah yang sudah kami bersihkan. Jangan sampai tumpukan ini kembali masuk ke aliran sungai dan menghambat aliran air,” pungkasnya.
